Dear IMA member:
As you are well aware, the IMA is the largest national organization serving industrial and service accountants. The CMA and CFA certification along with the IMA professional activities and services have been highly respected by corporate and business organizations. The IMA supports and encourage chapters, guided by the IMA and regional councils, to provide professional services to members in their local areas and help accomplish the professional targets of the IMA.
The IMA is pleased to announce the issuance of a Probationary Charter to the new Pennsylvania West Chester Chapter. The objective of the new Chapter is to closely serve IMA current and new members who are working or living in Chester County and neighboring area in Upper Montgomery and Western Delaware Counties. The new chapter, guided by the IMA new directions and Mid-Atlantic Council, will provide services to local area that include but not limited to:
· Professional seminars and technical sessions on current topics mostly desired by the members to meet their needs and enhance their knowledge.
· Convenient locations for meetings close to work or residence of members at affordable costs.
· Focusing on adding new members to the IMA.
· Building up a wide network among members, professionals, and business organizations.
· Enhance academic relations with colleges and universities in the area.
· Focus on promoting and preparing for CMA and CFA certification.

The formation of West Chester Chapter will be celebrated at the opening meeting on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, starting at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Frederick Schea, IMA Chair Elect, will deliver a speech on “Changes in the Accounting Profession and the Role of Management Accountant”. The meeting will be held at West Chester Graduate Business Center, 1160 McDermott Drive, West Chester, PA. All members are welcome to attend the meeting and share the celebration of forming the new Chapter. The meeting Agenda and Directions are attached.
